2 A MESSAGE FROM President Frank H. Wu WARMEST CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE STUDENTS BEING RECOGNIZED TONIGHT. Your hard work and exemplary dedication to the pursuit of higher education has led you to this important moment. Tonight, you are being recognized with Latin honors, departmental prizes, and awards from Queens College or The City University of New York. You represent the very best of Queens College. Your commitment to excellence has never been more prominent than over the past year. You have excelled in your studies while coping with the daunting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. You have been obliged to learn remotely and finish your degree away from our beautiful campus, your classmates, and our devoted professors. You persevered without the many other joys of college life that provide relief and enhancement during challenging days of school. Your days (and nights) at Queens College have been spent in whatever space you could find to study. I commend you for your profound determination during these difficult times. I am deeply proud of each and every one of you for all that you have achieved. As you move on to the next stage of your life, whether it be an internship, job, or a graduate or professional school, I know you will excel at whatever path you choose, thanks to the rich education and foundation of experiences during your time at QC. The degree you earned will provide you with advantages through so many aspects of your professional and personal life. I am confident you are ready to take on the world. No matter where you go, you will always have a home here at Queens College. This is my first commencement as president of Queens College. While this year's ceremony is virtual, I am looking forward to the many years ahead where I can preside over these ceremonies in person and congratulate all of the award winners face-to-face. Although I could not meet many of you this year due to health and safety regulations, I hope to see you back at Queens College as alumni at a time when we can gather once again. I wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors. Be well and stay safe.
